Urgent, which offer should I choose? I am very seriously, thanks.

1. Senior architect.
everything will start from scratch to build up a whole architecture in a small firm, while the while lifecycle would be around 1 year, and the first half year would be mainly focused on architecture design, vendor negotiation / selection, paper / document work but without chance to touch any physical equipment, means I almost seek no technical improvement for the next 6 months or so.

2. System engineer.
Again, a small firm even though it’s some bigger than the first one, looks like to me it’s some more professional than the first one and the structure is there already, but the salary is little bit lower (3k or so) than the first one.

I have to make decision asap, so I need all of your $.2 and any comments are welcome!

      • thanks, but the first opportunity is more like a PM position in a .Com company, at least so far, the job responsibility is document and paper work, and it's hard to forsee what would be going on after half year.
      • frankly speaking, I perfer to the second one since I'd like to pursue technical staff and also, I would be much more stable of us, like technical immigrant. anyway, it's really my headache right now.
      • who tells you architect is not responsible for coding? It's not true.
        • yes or no and it really depends on specific scenario, but here it's ture actually.
      • are you the guy driving a white Acura? and thanks for your input, my major is WAN/LAN networks and mostly focused on Cisco, and currently we're developing some kinds of network management system, so
the firm needs both senior software architecture and network architecture to achieve the whole development, and furthermore this firm will build up its own network backbone, I mean the first job position.
      • make sense. thanks a lot!
